Posted by maim admin, underA look at the economic state shows that for the next few years, the future doesn’t look good. And 2011 is the year that economists are predicting the economy will finally recover.
Mark Zandi, chief economist says “Economic growth will not start again until 2011.” He predicted that 2009 would be a “very difficult year – a washout” and 2010 a “basically flat year”. The reality is, if you lose your job in 2009, expect a long time before you find another.
According to Nouriel Roubini – the professor at New York City’s Stern School of Business who has been reading the pulse of the economy – states that the US is now in the 15th month of a recession that he predicts will last 24-36 months.
That’s 2-3 years of zero growth and well over 10% unemployment. The situation is no better overseas, where the Credit Crunch has crippled the world economy.
Family finances, consumer spending, and the housing market are not expected to recover until 2011.
Families have had to tighten their belts. Shops and restaurants have suffered. Companies have cut their work force dramatically. And, recovery from all this – for most countries – is not expected until 2011.
Until that time, you still have to pay your mortgage, put kids through school, put food on the table.
That’s just for the short term, the next 2-3 years. But what about the future? What about after you retire?
